Arthur Grosset's Birds
Araripe Manakin, Chapada do Araripe, Ceará, Brazil, October 2008 - click to access this species' page This is a collection of, mainly, bird photographs although there are some other animals included. Most of these photos are from South America, Europe, Australia, Africa and Bhutan. I have attached some notes on each bird wherever possible.

31st March 2026:
I continue to update my pages on South American birds (working backwards from the Tanagers). This involves updating some photos, correcting some broken links and adding additional information where possible. You can follow this upgrade by clicking on Blue-and-black Tanager then pressing "Next Page" to scroll through some of the most colourful birds in the world.

I have added a new species, Black-legged Dacnis, and added some new photos to Rufous-headed Tanager, Yellow-backed Tanager, Bicoloured Conebill, White-rumped Tanager and Long-tailed Reed Finch.

10th March 2026:
After the trauma of moving house and settling into our new home I am now back to working on my website.

I am currently changing the order of my website to follow the Clements and eBird taxonomy. This is now completed for South American Birds and I will do the same for the other groups shortly.

At the same time I am revising many of my older pages. Since starting this website in 2000 technology has advanced so much that there is now little restriction on space and download times so I am increasing the size of some of the older photos, including distribution maps and recordings and deleting redundant links. I have started with South American tanagers and some species have new photos. So far these are Wedge-tailed Grass-finch, Pale-throated Pampa-finch, Blue-black Grassquit, Coal-crested Finch and Bananquit and with the split of Copper Seedeater I have gained an armchair species - the Pearly-bellied Seedeater.

I hope that you will enjoy this site.

I will be adding to it for the foreseeable future so please revisit at regular intervals.

I would also be very interested in comments about the birds, the photos and the web site. Please e-mail me at arthurgrossethome(at)gmail.com
