The Silver Gull is distributed throughout Australia both on the coast and inland. It feeds on a very wide variety of food from fish and carrion to berries, seeds and insects.

Photo 5 shows a first winter bird in flight while photo 6 shows another immature bird with a dull yellow-brown bill, and reddish-brown legs.
