See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found mainly near cliffs and rocky outcrops as was the case here at Ormiston Gorge. |

Identification is confirmed by the fact that there are only two Woodswallows in Australia that show a dark body and a dark tail - the Little Woodswallow and the Dusky Woodswallow A. cyanopterus. The Dusky Woodswallow is not so chocolate-brown, is not found this far north and is found in areas of woodland and forest with high rainfall. | |||
