|Bush Thick-knee Burhinus grallarius
(aka Bush Stone-curlew)
The Bush Thick-knee is distributed in Australia except in the driest areas. There is a distribution map at Birdlife International who classify this species as Near Threatened because of the destruction of its preferred habitat and predation by introduced foxes.
|It is found in open forest and woodland but also feeds at night in more open areas nearby.|
