Australia February / March 2006 The Australasian Gannet is distributed round southern and eastern Australia as well as New Zealand. In fact, while there are a few colonies on islands off Tasmania and Victoria, most of the colonies are on islands off New Zealand. |

Compared to Northern Gannet M. bassanus the secondaries along the trailing edge of the wing are black as are the central feathers on the tail of adult birds. | |||
