Say's Phoebe is migratory. It breeds from Alaska through western Canada and south throw the western United States to central Mexico. It winters in the southern USA and Mexico. It is found in dry, open areas where it forages for insects though it occasionally eats fruit.
Say's Phoebe,Dezadeash Lake, Yukon, Canada, May 2009 - click on image for a larger view It is greyish-brown above with a darker head and tail. The breast and throat are paler greyish-brown while the belly and undertail coverts are tawny-buff.

The call is a plaintive, downward slurred whistle.
