The American Robin is distributed in North and Central America. As its scientific name suggests it is migratory breeding in the north of the continent and wintering to the south. There is a distribution map from Natureserve.

It feeds on invertebrates and fruit with invertebrates being predominant in spring and fruit in the autumn.

The song is often rendered as "cheerily cheerup cheerio".
