The Nursery-web Spider is distributed across most of the world. This particular species is found in the Western Palearctic and in the UK is found mainly in England and Wales. See the distribution map at britishspiders.org.

They are seen between March and September. The female carries her eggs around in a cocoon and when they hatch she spins a "nest" for the spiderlings as in photo 3.
