Scotland July 2002 The Northern Eggar is a name sometimes given to a sub-species of the Oak Eggar. It differs from the Oak Eggar in having a two rather than one year life-cycle and the moth is darker in colour. The Northern Eggar is found in moorland in Yorkshire and Scotland.
