The Himalayan Striped Squirrel is distributed along the Himalayas into southern China and south to Thailand and Malaysia.

It is found in montane forest above 700 metres and rarely descends to the ground. It feeds mainly on insects but in photo 2 it seems to have a nut or fruit in its mouth.

It is small at 22cms including the tail and has bold broad stripes extending from behind the ear to the base of the tail.

There is more information on the Ecology Asia website.
