Mongar, Bhutan The White-throated Laughingthrush is distributed from north-east Pakistan along the Himalayas to central and southern China. It is found in several types of forest and in more open areas of scrub. It is usually above 1,200 metres up to about 3,800 metres. |

It has a white throat and breast, a rufous-orange belly and a broad white tip to the tail. Otherwise it is a dull
brown. It feeds mainly on insects but also on berries and seeds. Photo 3 shows a bird with a large seed or nut in its bill which it was trying to smash open on a stone in photo 4 somewhat in the manner of a Nutcracker. |
