The Grey-cheeked Warbler is distributed from central Nepal eastward to northern Myanmar and south China and southwards into Indochina. It is found in the undergrowth of warm temperate forest at between 1,700 and 2,100 metres.

Grey-cheeked Warbler, Lingmethang Road, Mongar, Bhutan, April 2008 - click for larger image Its head, nape, cheeks and throat are dull grey though in fact there is a light grey crown stripe rarely visible except from behind as in photo 2. This photo also shows the white wedges on the tail feathers. It has a prominent white eye-ring broken at the top front. It also has a pale wing-bar and the lower breast and belly are bright yellow.
