The Green-billed Malkoha is distributed in southern China, south-east Asia, eastern India and Sumatra. It is found in a variety of habitats from primary forest, secondary growth, agricultural areas and bamboo where it feeds on insects and reptiles.

It is a dark green cuckoo with a very long tail with white tips. It has a pale green bill, a grey head with red skin bordered by white round the eye. Underparts are grey shading darker towards the crissum.

Although it is a member of the cuckoo family it is not a brood parasite.

There are recordings on xeno-canto and additional information is available on Avibase .
