The Brownish-flanked Bush-warbler is distributed in the Himalayas through north-east India and northern Myanmar into southern China and northern Vietnam.

It is a fairly nondescript little brown job but it has a very distinctive song consisting of a loud whistling weeee followed by an explosive chiwiyou.

There are recordings on xeno-canto.
