The Grey-crested Tit is distributed along the Himalayas and into central and southern China. It is found in a variety of different forest types usually above about 2,400 metres and up to about 4,000 metres.

It is light grey above with buffy underparts, a white moustachial stripe and half collar and a long, erect crest.

It is fairly shy and quiet as it forages for insects and larvae at middle to low levels in the forest.

There are recordings on xeno-canto and additional information is available on Avibase .
