June 2011

The White-throated Francolin is distributed in West Africa from Senegal to Cameroon with disjunct populations in the DR Congo and in western Zambia/ eastern Angola. It is found in various types of wooded grassland and in scrub. It is normally a skulker but seems to react well to playback.

These photos are of a male. The female has fine barring on the breast and flanks.
