Ethiopia The Slender-tailed Nightjar is distributed in eastern Africa from Djibouti and Ethiopia to Tanzania. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in open wooded and scrub country up to 1,500 metres. |

The male shows white spots on the primaries, the wing-coverts and the trailing edge of the wings. In the female these are buffy coloured. The central tail feathers are slightly elongated. | |||
