Ifaty, Madagascar The Sickle-billed Vanga is distributed in north, west and south Madagascar. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in dry deciduous forest and thorn forest up to 900 metres. It is the largest Vanga and has an exceptionally long and strongly decurved bill which it uses to probe the bark of trees and shrubs looking for invertebrates. |
