Mole NP, Ghana
June 2011

The Intermediate Egret is distributed from West Africa across the Indian Subcontinent to Southeast Asia and Australia. It is found in a variety of habitats but is more commonly found inland in areas with abundant aquatic vegetation than on the coast.

Its neck is less kinked and the line of the gape is shorter than that of the Great Egret ending at the back of the eye.
