Ghana and Ethiopia The Fox Kestrel is distributed in tropical Africa south of the Sahara and north of the Equator. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found mainly in dry savannah and desert where there are cliffs , gorges or rocky hills. |

We saw the bird in photos 1 and 2 perched on a rock in the distance when it suddenly flew off past us so there was just time for a distant flight shot. It is a foxy-rufous above and slightly paler below but the most significant feature is the relatively long tail for a kestrel. | |||
