Ethiopia The Black-billed Barbet is distributed from Eritrea and west-central Ethiopia to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania with a disjunct population in northern Cameroon reported in 1994. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. |

It is found in bush and woodland from 400 to 2,400 metres where it feeds on berries, fruits and insects such as
termites and ants.
The specific name guifsobalito refers to the Ethiopian name for this bird. |
