Tarapoto, San Martin, Peru September 2018 The Turquoise Tanager is distributed in the Amazon Basin and northwards into Trinidad and the Guianas.. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. Some authorities lump this species with White-bellied Tanager Tangara brasiliensis which has a distinctive white belly. |

It is found in forest borders, gallery forest and in clearings in disturbed forest. | ||||
