Ruddy-tailed Flycatcher (Terenotriccus erythrurus) |
Brazil The Ruddy-tailed Flycatcher is distributed from Mexico through Central America to the Pacific coast of Colombia and Ecuador and into the Amazon Basin and the Guianas. It is found in humid forest and secondary woodland where it is usually seen fairly low down and perched in the open. |
It has a grey head and nape with a brown back becoming cinnamon-rufous on the rump and tail. Underparts are uniformly cinnamon. It looks very similar to the much rarer Cinnamon Tyrant-manakin Neopipo cinnamomea. Note the very up-right posture of the birds in these photos and the rictal bristles. The first two photos were taken in Rondônia and the third in Amazonas. |
