The Northern Mockingbird is distributed from southern Canada to southern Mexico and the West Indies. It is found in open areas with bushes including farmland, gardens and coastal areas.

It is grey above and whitish below with 2 wing-bars, a white wing patch and white edges to the tail. It feeds on insects and small fruits.
